Interior decorator Lotta Agaton launches her first collection of furniture and a series of carpets with Swedish producer Layered. The collection includes a sofa and lounge chair as well as a padded bench and a number of carpets, all bearing the mark of Agatons pared down design aesthetic which has made her a house hold name in Scandinavia and beyond.

THE COLLECTION
“I’ve designed a few tailor made items for interiors I’ve made in the past, but this is my first collection to be put in production,” explains Agaton. “With how the world is looking, it’s taken some time to finalise it, but I don’t feel very rushed.” The new LA Sofa01, a low sofa made with comfort in mind, is her own favourite. “It’s a piece very much made for my own living room, where comfort is key,” she explains.
The collection of carpets comes in wool and jute, with five designs all together. Layered has made a name for themselves making exciting collaborations with artists and creatives, with a focus on well made carpets of good quality, produced in a responsible manner. Like many other companies providing for the home market, their products have seen a rise in demand the last one year. “But we have had to have some patients producing this collection, as the world has been in turmoil,” Malin Glemme, the founder of Layered, explains.
For Agaton, the step into furniture and accessories feels very natural. Her next step is up launch an online shop for some of the smaller objects she has designed. ”I use items I’ve designed throughout the years in my interiors, and I receive a lot of questions about them,” she says.
