Swedish wood artisan Daniel Wester uses carving as therapy, creating beautiful wooden sculptures with a fragile sensibility. His remote summer abode in the south of Sweden is a celebration to making, with plenty of space for him and his wife to experiment. His work, ranging from ebonised cherry bowls and spoons carved in hazel to vessels turned in birch, have been widely exhibited.
...”Photography is quite intimate, you get very close to the the subject your are portraying, whether it’s a person or a place”, says Annica Eklund, who combines her role as photographer with being CEO of the flooring brand Bolon. “I have always been very curious and this has pushed me in many different directions. ...Swedish interior design company Jotex has launched an exclusive series of outdoor furniture in collaboration with architect Andreas Martin-Löf. ‘ASPVIK’ consisting of a chair, sofa, sun lounger, a deck chair and a table, is inspired by his grandparents’ summer house with the same name, where he spent his childhood summers. It is locally manufactured in Sweden by outdoor furniture producers Hillerstorp using Swedish, FSC-certified pine.
