All time high for Kvänum

As the year comes to an end, many furniture producers in Scandinavia are celebrating an all in all good year when it comes to sales and turnover, despite the pandemic. This is perhaps particularly true when looking at some kitchen manufacturing companies, which saw sales soar at the beginning of 2020. 

          ”We saw an increased interest already at the beginning of the year, and it only increased at the onset of the pandemic,”says Marie Malmenskog, Brand manager at Kvänum. As a supplier of high end kitchens since 1923, they can see how shifting trends in society effects domestic life. ”What we clearly see right now is a change in priorities and a strong focus on quality. We may not necessarily sell that many more kitchens, but we sell a lot more high end and exclusive ones, and that makes all the difference,” says Malmenskog.

KVÄNUM 

Kvänum was founded by carpenter Gustav Johansson in 1923 and today they create top of the line kitchens, bathroom cabinets and storage.They work almost exclusively in natural materials such as wood, leather, wool and cotton and they run their own factory in Kvänum on the Swedish country side. All the wood is from certified forestry operations. 

LAUNCHING NEW PRODUCT WITH LILJENCRANTZ

Their best selling kitchens right now includes Ramel, Broby and Liljencrantz for Kvänum, the latter being their first kitchen in collaboration with an external designer, which launched in February 2019. Kvänum is continuing their collaboration with the designer and next year they launch a new colour stain for the Liljencrantz kitchen, as well as a brand new product with her.

Next year Kvänum will launch a new stain colour for the Liljencrantz kitchen as well as a brand new product with her studio. 

”Some kitchen designs takes a while before they start to sell, but when they do, they become best sellers,” Malmenskog comments.
This autumn Kvänum also launched their new kitchen Steneby, with a new frame door, as well as a set of new colours that enables combinations of up to three different shades in the same kitchen. ”Its an international and pretty timeless kitchen, it could easily be seen in a town house London or New York,” says Malmenskog.
