MASSPRODUCTIONS LAUNCHES WEBSHOP
PLUS INCREASED FOCUS ON TRANSPARENCY
DESIGN
The Swedish/British furniture company Massproductions founded by Magnus Elebäck and Chris Martin has just launched a new webbshop with best-selling products such as the Dandy sofa and Crown Collection as well as limited edition pieces. First up is a new pillow collection with recycled down.
In connection with the launch, Massproduction unveils The Transparency Project, an initiative to investigate its environmental imprint. The information, which includes working conditions of the sub suppliers as well as documentation from the factories, is now available to customers in the new webshop. The company has also collaborated with the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm to develop a tool that can identify the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production, including materials, electricity and transportation. Step two in the process, launched later this year, is to account for CO2 emissions of all furniture.

Besides launching a new webbshop, the showroom on Hammarby Allé in Stockholm has opened to the public.
"Manufacturing products will always mean an imprint on the environment, to say something else is hypocrisy,” says Magnus Elebäck, CEO and co-founder of Massproductions. ”For us, it has been important and interesting to investigate what imprint we make and to find methods and processes to reduce this.”
